What happens with a 29 February birthday?

The years figure rolls over on 1 March in non-leap years, because 29 February does not exist in them, and the Next Birthday panel shows 1 March as well. Jurisdictions differ on which date a leapling legally ages, so check local rules if the answer carries weight.

Can I calculate someone's age on a date in the past?

Yes. Change the Today field to that date and the years figure, the unit totals and the next-birthday panel all recalculate against it instead of against the current date.

Are the hours, minutes and seconds live?

No, they are a snapshot from the moment the calculation ran. While the Today field is filled they are measured to midnight on that date, so they land on exact multiples of a whole day.

How is the heartbeat figure calculated?

It multiplies the total minutes lived by a flat 72 beats per minute. Real resting rates run from roughly 50 to 100 and change with age and fitness, so treat it as a novelty number rather than a health statistic.

Is the Chinese zodiac animal reliable?

Only for births after mid-February. The tool takes the Gregorian year and divides by twelve, but the animal actually changes at Lunar New Year, which falls somewhere between 21 January and 20 February.

Which star sign boundaries does it use?

Fixed calendar dates, for example Capricorn through 19 January and Aquarius through 18 February. The Sun's real entry into a sign shifts by a day or so between years, so a cusp birthday may disagree with a properly cast chart.

Is the birth weekday correct for very old dates?

It uses the browser's proleptic Gregorian calendar, which projects today's rules backward. For births recorded before the Gregorian switch, 1582 in Catholic Europe and 1752 in Britain and its colonies, the weekday will not match what the original register said.

What if the birth date is later than the Today date?
